May 10, 2014

So I am wayyyy behind.  As usual.  But what else would you expect from me?

On May 10th my life was forever changed.  Because College ended that day for me.  Thats right.  I graduated.

Graduation is something that everyone looks forward to, but not me.  College was the place that I really discovered who I was and I was finally happy.  I left all the drama of high school and my insecurities behind me and I was finally comfortable in my own skin.  So when graduation started approaching, I started freaking out.

It is still surreal to me that its all over.  I feel like this big monumental event happened, but I didn't notice it at all.  The weekend was a whirlwind.  I had my capstone presentation, then graduation, then I had to move out of my sorority house (which was a traumatic process for me!) and then it was mother's day, and then I had to drive back to So-Cal to move back home.  It went by so fast that I really did not get to enjoy the moments.
Mom and Dad.

So now I am no longer a college girl.  I'm just a has-been.  I guess I can no longer confess about being a starving college student (however I was never starving, Gloria kept us well fed in Tri Delta).  I never quite managed to give that many confessions on this blog, and that is one thing I do regret.  I created this as an outlet so I could capture my college experience, yet I hardly posted on it.  I was too busy living my college experience to write about it I guess.

So now since I'm living at home, working on that acting career, I will no longer write about my college confessions.  Its now time to write about the roller coaster that is pursuing an acting career.  And since I am unemployed, I will have a lot of time to write about what happens in my life.

Signing off as the Starving College Student, it is time to become the Starving Actor (but you know, I'm not actually starving).
Walking up to get my diploma.

More to come.

XOXO
Kate

Sunday Part 2

After we left the Asparagus Festival, we went to the Viaggio  Winery in Acampo to check out the space where my graduation dinner is going to be held.  Viaggio is a beautiful winery and the scenery is beautiful!  After we checked out the space, we decided to take some photos..

Asparagus.

Hello my lovelies!

Sorry that I have not posted in a while!  Life has been busy, but more on the past two months later.  This past Sunday I went to the Stockton Asparagus Festival!  Stockton is known for its yearly asparagus festival, and my mom has been dying to go forever, and every year that I have been in college, I have always missed it.  Every year she gets mad that I didn't go, and since this is my last year at Pacific, I decided that I needed to go.

So I forced Cortney out of the house, and the two of us ventured to downtown Stockton where the festival was being held.

Cortney loving the ice cream
Everyone talks about how you have to try the deep fried asparagus and the asparagus ice cream, so that is what we set off to do first.
yuck.

Cortney loved the ice cream, while I had a different opinion about the snack.

The next thing we set our sights on was the deep fried asparagus.

Which was actually good!  It was burning hot, and we burned our tongues, but it was a good snack.

As we walked around we saw a sea lion show, and there was a mini carnival in the middle of the festival.

We found a sloth!

On our walk, we found Aspara-aritas!  So, naturally, we needed to try it.  It tasted like a regular margarita, but it did have a slightly different taste to it.

Here a few more shots of our time at the festival:
Apparently Cortney is missing....

We had a ton of fun at the festival, and if you are in the Stockton area next April I highly suggest that you go!

XOXO,
Kate
